It’s time to thrive

Your first year will be a whirlwind, but you cannot lose sight of the fact that you found yourself looking for a job once, and that will probably come around again. So, whatever you do, you cannot rest on your laurels and stop the process of change that you’ve started.

If you do, you’ll be back in the position you were, but worse off as you won’t have the stability you enjoyed in your last job.

This final step is about using the reprieve you now have to properly plan for the future and fill in some of the gaps in your life plan.

Here are five things you need to ensure you continue to do:

  1. Review your notes, which act as your second brain. Curate them, combine them and use them to drive your action plans.
  2. Build an individual development plan and consider the learning and development you need to stay relevant in your job and career. I have a guide on my professional blog here.
